Description

Concentrating on American literature post-WWII-present, students study authors, the historical contexts for the literature, and the literature itself. Units include the Beat Generation, the Civil Rights Movement, and literature of the Vietnam War. Writing assignments focus primarily on literary analysis and help to develop a strong writing style through sentence revision, quotation integration, and transitioning.

**Successful completion of English IV is required for graduation.
